About the project

SeaWorld operates on the shore of Mission Bay, which means the same marine exposure that governs coastal construction applies to a great deal of the steel on the property. Guest safety structures, guarding, platforms and support framing all live in an environment that is corrosive by default and salt laden much of the year.

Park work also carries an operating constraint that few construction sites impose. Work areas must be secured and restored around park hours, guest circulation must be maintained, and the appearance of anything within public view is part of the specification rather than an afterthought.

Steel scopes in this environment typically include attraction and ride support structures, guest area platforms and viewing decks, guardrail and handrail assemblies, service access structures, equipment support and a wide range of miscellaneous metals.
