About the project
Educational construction in California is governed by requirements that exceed ordinary commercial work. Structural review, special inspection, material verification, welding procedure and welder qualification documentation are all scrutinized, and the record has to be complete rather than approximately complete.
The schedule is equally rigid. A campus that must open for a school year does not have the option of a two week extension, which puts pressure on every upstream milestone including detailing approval, mill delivery, fabrication and erection sequencing.
Campus steel scopes generally include structural framing for classroom and assembly buildings, egress stair towers, guardrail and handrail systems, canopy and shade structures, mechanical equipment support and miscellaneous metals throughout.
