Everything we sell is made where we can walk out and look at it. Our Spring Valley facility handles cutting, drilling, coping, fitting, welding, finishing and load out for structural and miscellaneous steel packages of substantial size.
Fabrication capability
Our shop is organized around the steel that Southern California commercial construction actually calls for. Wide flange columns and beams, HSS tube sections, channels, angles, plate work, base plates, stiffeners, gussets, embeds and the full range of miscellaneous metals that appear in the specification sections nobody wants to own.
Work moves through the shop in a controlled sequence. Material is received and verified against mill certifications, cut and prepared, laid out and fit, welded by qualified welders to approved procedures, inspected, finished, tagged with erection marks and staged for delivery in the order the crane will need it.
Cutting and preparation
Beam and plate cutting, coping, hole preparation, bevel preparation for complete joint penetration welds, straightening and edge finishing. Fit up is performed against detailed shop drawings with dimensional checks before welding begins, which is where accuracy is either won or lost.
Welding
Our welders qualify to written welding procedure specifications appropriate to the material and joint configuration, including flux cored, shielded metal arc and gas metal arc processes for carbon steel, and the processes appropriate to stainless steel and dissimilar metal work. Welder qualification records are maintained and made available for submittal packages and special inspection.
Finishing
Surface preparation and shop primer application, coordination of hot dip galvanizing through qualified regional galvanizers, and preparation for architectural finish systems where exposed steel demands a higher standard of surface quality and weld appearance.
Delivery and load out
Steel is loaded in erection sequence and delivered on a schedule coordinated with your crane and your site logistics. On constrained urban sites we plan deliveries around street permits, lane closures, hours of operation and adjacent trades rather than dropping a load and leaving the problem with you.
