About the project
Hospitality venues in the Gaslamp Quarter are built inside dense downtown blocks, frequently within existing buildings, and almost always with multiple levels connected by stairs, mezzanines and open floor plates.
That combination produces a steel scope that is simultaneously structural and architectural. Mezzanine framing, stair structures, guardrail and handrail, rooftop deck framing, bar and equipment support, and exposed feature elements all appear in the same package. The exposed portion carries appearance requirements comparable to architecturally exposed structural steel.
Gaslamp logistics add their own difficulty. Street access is limited, staging is minimal, deliveries frequently require permits or restricted hours, and adjacent businesses continue operating throughout.
