Omnia Nightclub
Rooftop hospitality venues push structural steel and architectural steel into the same members, at the top of an occupied building.
About the project
Downtown rooftop venues are among the more demanding hospitality projects to build. Material has to reach the top of an existing building, often through limited access, and the structure below has to accept new loads it may not have been designed to carry.
The steel scope typically spans structural framing and support, mezzanine and platform construction, egress and feature stairs, extensive guardrail at open edges, canopy and shade structures, and exposed elements that guests interact with directly.
Because so much of the steel is visible, weld appearance, finish quality, alignment and fastener treatment become part of the deliverable. Downtown logistics, permitting for street use, crane placement and restricted delivery hours shape how the work is sequenced.
Conditions that shaped the work
- Rooftop access and material handling in a downtown block
- New loads imposed on an existing structure
- Highly visible steel requiring architectural finish quality
- Permitting and restricted delivery windows
