About the project
Handrail and guardrail work runs through nearly every project type we touch. Commercial buildings, schools, parking structures, apartment complexes, restaurants, hotels and custom homes all need railing, and all of it is subject to both accessibility requirements and structural load requirements.
The requirements are specific. Handrail height, graspable profile, wall clearance and required extensions at the top and bottom of runs. Guardrail height, opening limits and resistance to prescribed concentrated and distributed loads. Both sets apply simultaneously and both are enforced.
A substantial portion of our railing work is corrective. Property owners come to us with a correction notice, an accessibility report or a failed inspection, and we identify the least invasive compliant fix and perform it.
