Struc Steel, Incorporated has fabricated and installed structural and miscellaneous steel in San Diego County since 1996. The address has not changed, the standards have not slipped, and the phone is still answered by people who know what is on the shop floor.
Who we are
Struc Steel is a structural steel fabricator and erector based in Spring Valley, California, a short drive from Downtown San Diego. We were founded in 1996 and we have operated continuously since, through building booms, downturns, code cycles and the arrival of nearly every landmark that has gone up in the county in that time.
The company was built around a straightforward idea. A general contractor should be able to hand the steel scope to one subcontractor and stop worrying about it. That means we do our own detailing coordination, our own fabrication, our own delivery sequencing and our own erection, and we stand behind all of it with one signature.
What we do
We fabricate and install structural steel frames, moment and braced frame systems, miscellaneous metals, mezzanines, equipment platforms, catwalks, egress and monumental stairs, guardrail and handrail assemblies, architecturally exposed steel, stainless steel assemblies and embeds. We perform seismic retrofit and structural strengthening on existing buildings, ADA compliance upgrades, tilt up construction steel, and field repair through our mobile welding crews.
The work spans commercial, industrial, institutional and high end residential construction. Our portfolio includes venues, campuses, retail centers, dealerships, restaurants, medical buildings, warehouses and custom homes throughout the region.
Our mission
Deliver steel that meets the drawings, the code and the schedule, while sending every member of our crew home in the same condition they arrived. Quality and safety are not competing priorities on our jobs. A shop that fits accurately and a crew that works deliberately produce the same outcome, which is fewer surprises for everyone downstream.
Where we are going
Our goal is to be the steel fabricator and erector that Southern California general contractors call first for demanding packages. Not the largest, but the one whose submittals come back complete, whose deliveries arrive in erection sequence, and whose punch lists are short. We are investing in detailing technology, welder development and equipment to keep moving in that direction.

Steel that fits is the cheapest steel on the job. We invest in detailing review and shop fit up because field corrections cost far more than shop precision.

Fall protection, rigging discipline, hot work control and daily planning are non negotiable. Our crews stop work rather than improvise around a hazard.
Documentation that holds up
Welding procedures, welder qualifications, mill certifications and inspection records are assembled as the work happens, not reconstructed at closeout.
Straight communication
If a delivery is going to move, you hear it from us early enough to react. Surprises are the only thing we refuse to deliver on time.
